I have only read 3 of this woman's books but I really have enjoyed her work. The books of hers that I've read are House Rules, Plain Truth, and My Sister's Keeper.

she's good on what she's doing. but after a while, her writing style and storry line is kind of repeating itself from one to another book

I like her a lot. Sometimes I'm not crazy about the endings of her books bot over all enjoy the reads. Have read Plain Truth, My Sister's Keeper and Nineteen Minutes.

I'm not too crazy about the language she uses in her stories. I think most of it is unnecessary. But I have enjoyed My Sister's Keeper, Keeping Faith and Harvesting the Heart. The strange thing is, when I started reading Harvesting the Heart, I felt like she wrote Paige especially for me. It was like we connected right away. I've actually e-mailed Jodi and she e-mailed me back! She seems pretty nice.

I'm also a fan of her books, I've read nineteen Minutes and My Sisters Keeper. I recently got all the books that the NLS bard site has of hers.

Yeah, I can see how one could say that her stories can be predictable. They sort of are, but they sort of aren't. It's odd. For the poster who wrote about language, are you meaning swear words or...what?

Yes. She used the "f" word too many times in her stories. I don't even think it's needed once. Let's just say my mother directed this word at me as a child and as a result, I never use it or any other vulgarity if at all.

I like her books, but I agree that after a while, her stories repeat themselves. There is always the same teenage character who is emo and broody. Whether it's a boy or a girl. I am however thinking of getting her newest book, house rules. Has anyone read it, what do you think of it?

Post 9 by FaithinGod4ever (Zone BBS is my Life) on Monday, 12-Apr-2010 13:53:57

Nope. I haven't read it yet. And I probably won't. I only like a few books of hers.

I read it, and it was good, but I haven't read many of her books. I've only read "my Sister's keeper" and "plain truth." both were really good books. Oh by the way, in plain truth, there was no brewdy teenager.

I pro(r1d ! braille version of Change of Heart and thought it was an excellent read. I read Perfect Match in my spare time1 which I also liked.

I find that when Jodi Picoult writes a good book, she writes a GREAT book, but th rest are just OK.

I've read most of her books, and in my opinion the best are "Plain Truth," "My Sister's Keeper," "Nineteen Minutes," and "Harvesting the Heart."

I found "Handle With Care" was WAY too much like "My sister's Keeper," and for some reason just couldn't get in to "House Rules." I wound up finishing House Rules because I was just hoping it would get better, and it didn't.

I just finished her latest book, sing you home, outstanding, a tough read, but worth it

I LOVED Handle with Care, even though I hated the ending. I couldn't put the book down though. The little girl was cute and really adorable! Her personality mixed with her age made her seem very realistic.

I just searched for her on my libraries audio book section and couldn't find her. their always adding new books though so I'll keep searching. She's someone who's books I wanted to check out for a while. I've heard several friends talk about her books so hopefully I'll be able to find some on the library site soon.

I've read almost all of her books. I think Handle With Care sticks out most in my mind as an awesome book! I enjoyed the one about the Aumish family but can't remember the titles.
I also liked Keeping Faith, 19 Minutes, and others that I can't remember the titles of. lol There was one that I couldn't finish though. I think it might have been either Perfect Match or Harvesting the Heart. I can't remember which one but it had the child molester in it. It was pretty graphic from what I remember and my son was the same age as the little boy in the story so I just couldn't get through that one. It was probably good but I just couldn't keep reading.
If House Rules is the one with the autistic kid, I got bored with that one too and didn't finish it.
She's a great author though. I can't wait to check out Sing You Home.

Perfect Match is the book with the priest who molested the little boy.

I've read 19 minutes, My sister's keeper, handle with care, Change of Heart, House Rules, and Picture Perfect. I enjoyed all but the last. For those who say that House Rules was boring, it gets way better. Her endings tend to make me mad, but they also make them great books. I tried to read Second Glance, but just couldn't finish it at all. While she's definitely not my favorite author, I like her books and how they really make me think about life and such.
